Devi Kavacham

The Devi Kavacham (the Armour of the Goddess) is one of the important parts of the Shri Durga Saptashati. It is read as a prayer for the Goddess’s grace and protection. Remembering the various forms of Mother Durga, it asks for protection of the different parts of the body and of all ten directions. The Devi Kavach describes the glory of the Navadurga, the Matrika Shaktis (mother goddesses) and many other forms of the Goddess. Recited with faith, it gives the devotee a sense of refuge in the Goddess, trust, and spiritual protection.
