Lord Ganesha

Lord Ganesha is one of the most beloved deities in Hindu tradition. He’s also known as Ganpati Bappa and Vighnaharta. His appearance differs a bit from other Hindu Gods, an elephant-headed deity with a round belly.

The elephant head represents strength and power with gentleness. One more thing, elephants are the strongest land animals, but they are also gentle and caring.

This balance of strength and kindness is what Ganesha shows us. We should be strong when needed but always kind and helpful to others.

Here’s more about Lord Ganesha.

Who is Lord Ganesha?

Ganpati Bappa is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Many devotees pray to him before starting a new business, getting married, or having children, as he is known to be the remover of obstacles, a god of new beginnings in life.

He is also known as the guardian of secret knowledge. Because of this, people who study astrology pray to him. They believe he understands how planets affect each soul and their destiny.

The Birth Story Of Ganesh God

There are different stories about how Ganesha was born. One day, Goddess Parvati wanted to take a bath. She asked Nandi, the bull of Lord Shiva, to guard the door. But when Shiva came home, Nandi had to let him in because he was loyal to Shiva first. This upset Parvati.

She wanted someone who would be loyal only to her. So she took turmeric paste from her body and created a boy. She brought him to life and told him to guard the door. When Shiva returned and tried to enter, the boy stopped him. Shiva did not know this was his son. He became angry and ordered his army to remove the boy, but they all failed.

Finally, Shiva fought the boy himself and cut off his head. When Parvati learned what had happened, she was very angry. She threatened to destroy everything. Shiva realized his mistake and wanted to fix it. He sent helpers to bring back the head of the first creature they found sleeping with its head facing north.

They returned with the head of an elephant. Shiva placed it on the body of the boy and brought him back to life. He declared the boy to be his son and named him Ganesha. He also said that people should worship Ganesha God before all other gods. This is why Hindu prayers often begin with honoring Lord Ganesha.
