Bhoomi is referred to as the Hindu Goddess Mother Earth. As in Hindu mythology, the earth is considered to be a Mother.
This puja is performed before the start of any construction and can be structured accordingly to suit the qualities of the land and the site for construction. Bhoomi Puja is also done to ask for forgiveness for the trouble caused to other living beings who are already on and in the land.
