Taking a nine-wicket haul on his Test debut against the West Indies in the first Test match played at Ferozshah Kotla, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has created a sensation in the cricketing world. His magic spell of 27-4-81-3 in the 1st innings and 21.3-5-47-6 in the 2nd innings won him the Man of the Match.
Ashwin has proved the selection committee that they have made the right choice by selecting him over Harbhajan Singh. Even former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram is all praise of him. “What I like about Ashwin is that he is not scared of flighting the ball, not just in Tests, but in T20s and ODI cricket too. He has got the variety; he has the carom ball, the quicker one and an easy action,” said Akram.
He is the only bowler of recent times apart from Ajantha Mendis of Sri Lanka to bowl the carom ball. He played for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League and made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on June 6, 2010. He played two matches for team India during World Cup, 2011. He became the highest wicket taker of the Champions League Twenty20 tournament, 2010 for Chennai Super Kings and was adjudged as the player of the tournament.
Is his future bright? Yes, of course. Born on September 17, 1986, Ashwin belongs to the zodiac sign Virgo with ruling number 8.
This number is governed by the Planet Saturn, which means that he possesses a keen sense of discipline, steadfastness, constancy and dutifulness. He will achieve success through his sheer hard work. He is bold and courageous and possesses a strong sense of individualism. His calm and composed temperament and thirst for success will take him a long way. When he really applies himself, there is nothing he cannot achieve. He has an individualistic streak and distinct style. Enough care should be taken, so that he doesn't lose his sense of balance. He is flexible and loves challenges but tends to be impulsive. He should never be complacent.
