One of the most popular and highest paid actresses of Bollywood, Anushka Sharma, broke quite a few hearts when she recently got married to one of the most eligible bachelors of the cricket fraternity; Virat Kohli. They had been dating for about four years and finally, this stylish couple, got married on 11th December 2017.
Listed as one of the “Bollywood’s hottest vegetarian celebrities” by The Times of India, Anushka has to her credit, unconventional roles in the largely conservative and male-dominated film industry. Also, the fact that she is not a protégé of the film fraternity and has carved a strong foothold for herself in an industry ruled by a few important families, the girl commands respect.
Coming from a military background, Anushka is a proud army man’s daughter. She owes her confidence, tenaciousness and her sense of adventure to the defense forces. “Getting posted in the remote areas of India, the children too learn at a very young age, how to adapt and adjust themselves to the varying environment and emerge as victorious survivors” says Anushka.
Her parents keep a low profile and hardly ever visit her on her sets, keeping away from the filmy world.
Although destiny had written a wonderful career for her as an actress, young Anushka had a different image of herself as a career woman. She had dreams of being a journalist; but set out to be a model and ended up on the silver screen.
Anushka’s debut film was ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ (2008) in which she was paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan. While the film was a major commercial success, she was actually noticed for her confidence in ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’(2010). She carried the whole film on her shoulders and has since not looked back.
Typically, Anushka too, has faced some filmy disasters in her career spanning almost 10 years. Some movies like, ‘Bombay Velvet’(2015) and ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’(2017), flopped badly at the box office in spite of her being paired with superstars like Ranbir Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan, respectively.
The leggy Anushka has had her own share of controversies; from getting a cosmetic enhancement of her lips while denying the whole thing; to her alleged affair with Ranvir Singh. She also had to face major brick-bats with Team India as her presence during the matches seemed to distract Kohli, to perform poorly.
Born on 1 May, Anushka is a Taurus. Her lucky colours are blue and pink and lucky numbers 2 and 6. The year, 2018, started well for the Bull, with the deepening of an existing relationship. This year, lucky Jupiter will ensure she has a happy and healthy partnership with Virat.
For the first time in 77 years, Uranus will be entering Taurus in mid-May, and will take Anushka’s career on a role. Her upcoming movies, ‘Sanju’(June 2018) and ‘Sui Dhaaga’ (September 2018) should do well at the box office.
The Bull should enjoy good health in 2018, all thanks to some good habits they inculcated in 2017.
On her 30th birthday, we at Astroyogi, wish the Taurean, a bright future ahead.
