Note on the version: This is the widely recited Hindi Aarti of Ahoi Mata. Families and regions may use slightly different words, line breaks, or additional verses. For example, some recite "निशदिन / nishadin" instead of "निसदिन / nisadin," or "मन नहीं धड़कता / mana nahin dhadakata" instead of "मन नहीं घबराता / mana nahin ghabarata" in Verse 5. Some versions also read "जग दाता" for "जगमाता" in Verse 2.

Verse 1

जय अहोई माता, जय अहोई माता।
तुमको निसदिन ध्यावत, हर विष्णु विधाता॥

Jaya Ahoi Mata, Jaya Ahoi Mata।
Tumako nisadina dhyavata, Hara Vishnu Vidhata॥

Translation: Victory to Mother Ahoi, victory to Mother Ahoi. Hara (Shiva), Vishnu, and Vidhata (Brahma, the Creator) meditate upon you day and night.

Meaning: Ahoi Mata is the supreme divine mother, worshipped even by the Trimurti: Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. By remembering her constantly, devotees place their children and families under her protection.

Verse 2

ब्रह्माणी, रुद्राणी, कमला, तू ही है जगमाता।
सूर्य-चन्द्रमा ध्यावत, नारद ऋषि गाता॥

Brahmani, Rudrani, Kamala, Tu hi hai Jagamata।
Surya-Chandrama dhyavata, Narada Rishi gata॥

Translation: You are Brahmani, Rudrani, and Kamala (Lakshmi), and you alone are the Mother of the World. The Sun and Moon meditate on you, and Sage Narada sings your praises.

Meaning: Ahoi Mata is the one Shakti behind every form of the Goddess. The whole cosmos bows to her, and her devotees take refuge in her.

Verse 3

माता रूप निरंजन, सुख-सम्पत्ति दाता।
जो कोई तुमको ध्यावत, नित मंगल पाता॥

Mata rupa Niranjana, Sukha-sampatti data।
Jo koi tumako dhyavata, Nita mangala pata॥

Translation: O Mother, your form is pure and spotless, and you grant happiness and prosperity. Whoever meditates on you receives auspiciousness every day.

Meaning: Ahoi Mata blesses her devotees with happiness and abundance, and her grace brings steady well-being to the home.

Verse 4

तू ही पाताल बसंती, तू ही है शुभदाता।
कर्म-प्रभाव प्रकाशक, जगनिधि से त्राता॥

Tu hi Patala basanti, Tu hi hai Shubhadata।
Karma-prabhava prakashaka, Jaganidhi se trata॥

Translation: You dwell even in the netherworld, and you are the giver of all that is auspicious. You illuminate the effects of karma, and you are the protector of the world.

Meaning: Her presence reaches everywhere. She is the auspicious bestower and the protector of the world, and she guides her devotees toward right action.

Verse 5

जिस घर थारो वासा, वाहि में गुण आता।
कर न सके सोई कर ले, मन नहीं घबराता॥

Jisa ghara tharo vasa, Vahi mein guna ata।
Kara na sake soi kara le, Mana nahin ghabarata॥

Translation: The home where you reside is filled with virtue. In that home, even what seemed impossible becomes possible, and the mind is free of fear.

Meaning: Where Ahoi Mata is worshipped, the household gains courage, goodness, and peace of mind.

Verse 6

तुम बिन सुख न होवे, न कोई पुत्र पाता।
खान-पान का वैभव, तुम बिन नहीं आता॥

Tuma bina sukha na hove, Na koi putra pata।
Khana-pana ka vaibhava, Tuma bina nahin ata॥

Translation: Without you there is no happiness, and no one obtains a child. Without you, the abundance of food and comfort does not come.

Meaning: Joy, children, and prosperity all flow from her grace. This is why mothers turn to her with full faith on Ahoi Ashtami. (Putra literally means "son"; here it is understood as children in general.)

Verse 7

शुभ गुण सुन्दर युक्ता, क्षीर निधि जाता।
रत्न चतुर्दश तोकू, कोई नहीं पाता॥

Shubha guna sundara yukta, Kshira nidhi jata।
Ratana chaturdasha toku, Koi nahin pata॥

Translation: You are adorned with beautiful, auspicious virtues and are known as the Ocean of Milk. Without your grace, no one can obtain the fourteen jewels.

Meaning: Like the vast, pure Ocean of Milk, Ahoi Mata is full of divine qualities. All treasures, even the fourteen jewels of the churning of the ocean, come only through her grace.

Verse 8

श्री अहोई माँ की आरती, जो कोई गाता।
उर उमंग अति उपजे, पाप उतर जाता॥

Shri Ahoi Maan ki Aarti, Jo koi gata।
Ura umanga ati upaje, Papa utara jata॥

Translation: Whoever sings the Aarti of Shri Ahoi Mata feels great joy rise in the heart, and their sins are removed.

Meaning: Singing the Aarti with a pure heart fills the devotee with joy and lifts the burden of past sins.

How to Perform Ahoi Mata Aarti

Before you begin: Bathe and wear clean clothes. If possible, set up the puja space facing east or north.

Items needed: An image or wall drawing of Ahoi Mata, a kalash or vessel of water, roli/kumkum, akshat (rice), flowers, a diya, incense, sweets and fruit, and prasad.

Steps:

Offer kumkum, rice, flowers, fruits, sweets, and water.
