Mangalwar Vrat Katha (Tuesday Vrat Katha)

According to astrology, people who have an unfavorable Mars (Mangal) position in their birth chart or are facing obstacles in important tasks are advised to observe the Mangalwar Vrat (Tuesday Fast) with devotion and proper rituals. It is believed that worshipping Lord Hanuman on Tuesday helps remove difficulties and fulfills the sincere wishes of devotees.

According to an ancient legend, there was a city named Kundalpur, where a Brahmin named Nanda lived with his wife Sunanda. The Brahmin couple was blessed with wealth and prosperity, but they had no child to continue their family lineage. Due to this sorrow, the Brahmin went to the forest to perform prayers and worship of Lord Hanuman.

Meanwhile, his wife started worshipping Bajrangbali at home. She observed the Tuesday fast (Mangalwar Vrat) every week and prepared food offerings in the evening, which she first offered to Lord Hanuman before consuming it herself.

However, one Tuesday, another religious observance fell on the same day, due to which she could not perform Lord Hanuman's fast. As a result, she neither prepared food nor offered bhog to Hanuman Ji and did not eat anything herself. She made a vow in her heart that she would consume food only after offering bhog to Lord Hanuman on the next Tuesday.

The Brahmin's wife remained without food and water for six days. On the following Tuesday, she became unconscious due to weakness. Seeing her devotion and unwavering faith, Lord Hanuman became pleased and appeared before her.

Lord Hanuman said,

"O Brahmani, I am pleased with your devotion. I bless you with a beautiful son who will serve and care for you throughout your life."

After blessing her, Lord Hanuman revealed his child form and disappeared. The Brahmin's wife was overjoyed to receive the divine blessing and named the child Mangal.

After some time, when the Brahmin returned from the forest, he saw a beautiful child in his house. He asked his wife about the child. She explained that Lord Hanuman had blessed her with the child after becoming pleased with her Tuesday fast and devotion.

However, the Brahmin did not believe her words. He doubted his wife's character and thought that she was making excuses to hide the truth.

One day, when the Brahmin was going to fetch water from the well, his wife requested him to take Mangal along with him. The Brahmin took the child with him, but while returning, he pushed Mangal into the well, thinking that the child was not his own.

When he returned home, his wife asked about Mangal. Before the Brahmin could answer, Mangal appeared in front of them smiling. Seeing the child alive, the Brahmin was shocked and surprised.

That night, Lord Hanuman appeared in the Brahmin's dream and said:

"This child is my divine form. I blessed your wife because I was pleased with her devotion. Why did you doubt your wife and call her impure?"

After realizing his mistake, the Brahmin became happy and apologized. From then onward, the Brahmin couple lived a peaceful and joyful life with the blessings of Lord Hanuman.

It is believed that devotees who read or listen to the Mangalwar Vrat Katha with faith and observe the Tuesday fast according to the rituals receive the blessings of Lord Hanuman. By the grace of Bajrangbali, all troubles are removed, and devotees attain happiness, strength, courage, and prosperity.
