Sai Chalisa
Chaupai
First, I bow my head at the holy feet of Sai.
Let me narrate how Sai came to Shirdi and tell His sacred story.
No one truly knows who His mother or father was.
Where Sai Baba was born has always remained a divine mystery.
Some believe He was Lord Ram of Ayodhya.
Others say Sai Baba was the incarnation of Lord Hanuman, the son of the Wind God.
Some regard Him as Lord Ganesha, the auspicious remover of obstacles.
Others worship Him as Lord Krishna, the beloved son of Devaki.
Many devotees consider Him to be Lord Shiva and worship Him with devotion.
Others believe Him to be an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya.
Whatever form you choose to believe in, Sai is the true Supreme Lord.
He is compassionate, the friend of the poor, and has blessed countless people with a new life.
Now let me tell you an incident from many years ago.
A fortunate wedding procession once arrived in the holy village of Shirdi.
Among the group was a very handsome young boy.
He came to Shirdi and decided to stay there, making the village sacred forever.
For many days, He wandered from door to door seeking alms.
During that time, He performed such divine miracles that His glory became immortal.
As the years passed, His fame continued to grow.
Soon every household in the village began singing the praises of Sai Baba.
His name spread in every direction.
Protecting the poor, the suffering, and the helpless became the purpose of His life.
Whoever came to Baba saying, "I am poor and helpless,"
would immediately receive His compassion, and the chains of sorrow would be broken.
Sometimes devotees prayed,
"Baba, please bless us with a child."
Sai Baba would simply say,
"So be it,"
and grant them the desired blessing.
Seeing the suffering of others filled Baba Himself with sorrow.
His heart was as vast and deep as the ocean.
One day, a wealthy devotee from Madras came to Baba.
He possessed immense wealth and treasure but had no children.
He prayed earnestly,
"O Sai Nath, please have mercy on me."
"My boat is being tossed about in the storms of life.
Only You can carry me safely across."
"Without an heir, my home remains in darkness."
"That is why I have come to Your refuge."
"Without a son, all my wealth is meaningless."
"Today I stand before You like a beggar."
"Please bless me with a son.
I shall remain forever indebted to You."
After hearing his heartfelt prayers and seeing his complete surrender,
Sai Baba became pleased and blessed him saying,
"Allah will bless you.
A son shall be born in your home.
His grace will always remain upon you and your child."
No one has ever been able to measure the extent of Sai Baba's grace.
By blessing the devotee with a precious son,
He transformed his entire life with divine happiness.
