Yoga when you can't walk outside

Yoga is an ancient practice that enhances the physical, mental and spiritual levels of an individual with the help of certain yoga asanas that make the body fit and healthy and bring peace to the mind.

By practicing these asanas, you will feel a rush of positive energy that wil brace up your body and mind. It can make your body flexible and help you learn the various techniques of meditation and relaxation as well.
 

What is the yoga exercise for beginners?

Yoga can be practiced by everyone irrespective of your age group. Even if you are a child, an adult or an elderly person, yoga has something in store for everyone. And the best part is that you can learn this essential science at any point in your life.

While doing yoga exercise, you stretch your muscles and it ranges from simple to vigorous yoga postures. But if you are a beginner and are not much aware of this discipline, then you must stick only to the basic yoga postures.

Since the circumstances will not allow you to take guidance from an expert and practice yoga under any vigilance, you must ensure that the poses you choose do not create any problem with regard to your health. 

Some of the basic postures that can form a part of your daily yogasana are:

  1. Child’s Pose
    This is a calming pose that helps in stretching your lower back, knees, thighs and ankles and provides relaxation to your neck, shoulders and spine. Avoid this pose if you are already suffering with a problem of knees or ankles.
     

  2. Cobra Pose
    In this pose, you will be bending your back in order to strengthen your back muscles and enhance the flexibility of your spine. Avoid this pose if you have arthritis in your neck or any injury in your lower back.
     

  3. Plank Pose
    This pose helps in strengthening the arms and shoulders of your body. In case, you have any wrist problems or lower back issues, then you must not go for this pose.
     

  4. Tree Pose
    The tree pose is mainly practiced to improve the balancing of your body. It works upon the thigh areas and spine to ensure that your balance posture is maintained. You must avoid it if you have medical conditions like low BP, etc.
     

  5. Downward-Facing Dog
    This is a unique pose that is usually practiced to relieve the pain in the back. It has a lasting impact on the shoulders, back and arms as well. You can avoid this pose if you have high BP, etc.
     

  6. Mountain Pose
    This pose is not as simple as it looks at the first glance. It needs proper concentration of mind and erectness of body to get this pose right. Avoid this pose if you have any prior injuries in your knees or feet.
     

  7. Corpse Pose
    This is usually the pose that ends a particular yoga session as it symbolizes the end of life. It is basically practiced to relax and calm the mind but not many people have the patience to remain still and often do not get this pose right. Therefore, continuous practice is the only key to win over this yoga asana and the best part is, it can be practiced by anyone irrespective of their medical conditions.
     

These are some of the most basic yoga asanas that you can start with during the current scenario when you cannot roam around the streets.  So, gear yourself up for a yoga practice that will help you get a calm and peaceful mind along with a strong and flexible body.
