Mangal Dosha Remedies
Indian traditions and beliefs are highly rooted and one of the foremost dogmas of our society is that of the Mangal Dosha. The validity and acceptance of any marriage proposal is dictated by the bride and groom’s Kundali. When Mars is placed in either the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th House, the Kundali is believed to have Mangal Dosha and the person is said to be ‘Manglik’. A noteworthy explanation to this is due to the fiery nature of Mars, the planet of war. The presence of Mangal Dosha has severe repercussions and has a significant impact in their marital life. This is why the concept of matching one’s Kundali is given importance. However, there are exceptions available to nullify the problem but due consideration must be given to Mangal Dosha and it cannot be ignored.
The position of Mars in different houses has varying effects on a person and his or her marriage. It is essential to determine its position through rigorous inception in order to avoid a broken household and marriage. In the case that Mars is placed in the 1st House, it will have an impact on various aspects of the 4th, 7th and 8th House. The 1st House is determinant of a person’s personality and mannerisms. The adverse effect will result in the individual being rather aggressive and irritable. Due to the 4th House being distressed, there will be potential problems relating to one’s house and vehicles. The 7th House predicts substantial difficulties in regards to marital life. Furthermore, the 8th House portrays greater obstructions by indicating towards fatal accidents.
The Manglik Dosha particularly affects household dynamics when Mars is placed in the 7th House. This placement indicates towards a rather unstable and unsettled home and marriage. Its ill effects transcend the bride and groom and have an adverse impact on other members of the family as well. It results in unpleasant relationships and unceremonious dialogues between the different individuals in the house. Moreover, severe financial problems are also likely to arise. This can take the form of either huge loss of money, property and other valuable assets. The consequences thus cause major implications on the physical, mental and emotional well-being of all those in the line of fire.
While texts greatly differ in their remedial strategies for a Manglik, there are some commonly practised and performed to rid people of their ill fate. The simple methods of reducing Manglik Dosha with the help of astrological remedies would be regular Poojas and recitation of Mantras. Another method followed is wearing of Gemstones prescribed by an astrologer and donating time and money to charitable causes. Another practise followed, however not so commonly is that of performing a ceremony for the Manglik called Kumbh Vivah. The Manglik marries a Banyan tree, Peepal tree or either a silver or gold idol of Vishnu. This ceremony is believed to rid a person of the adverse consequences of Mangal Dosha and guarantees a harmonious and happy marriage.
