Truth Behind the 13th Zodiac Sign

Truth Behind the 13th Zodiac Sign

All hell broke loose when NASA announced about the new found constellation in their website for kids 'space place'.  If they are to be believed almost  86 percent of people are born under a different Zodiac sign. This constellation is named, ‘Ophiuchus’, which translates to “serpent bearer” in Latin. Ophiuchus would be the zodiac sign for people born between November 30th and December 18th if we append this 13th zodiac sign into our existing Zodiac circle. Astroyogi's expert astrologers explain why you shouldn't be concerned about the 13th Zodiac sign and the hoopla surrounding it.

The ancient  Babylonians who are considered the founders of astrology knew about this 13th constellation, long before NASA came out with this new finding. They chose to stick to the 12 zodiac signs as they didn't find any real connection between the constellation and life on earth. As matter of fact there are 88 constellations recognized and named, but they cannot be taken into consideration for astrological analysis. The 12 zodiac signs considered in astrology is carefully observed and understood, the planetary movements alongside and its impact are the basis of astrological predictions.  After the social media outbreak, NASA  took to its Tumblr page and clarified “Here at NASA, we study astronomy, not astrology. We didn’t change any zodiac signs, we just did the math.” The space agency has been doing a phenomenal job and is continuing its quest to solve the mysteries of the universe, but it has got nothing to with astrology.  As far as astrology is concerned, the 13th zodiac sign does not have any relevance  and as a matter of fact it doesn't fit in, as Scorpio’s cycle would be reduced to a mere 6 days if the new zodiac sign is  considered. It doesn’t make much sense for a sign to have such a small “season.” For an expert consultation click here.

There have been suggestions to alter the zodiac circle in the past too, in 1970 Stephen Schmidt suggested a 14 sign zodiac and  later a 13-sign zodiac was suggested by Walter Berg and by Mark Yazaki in 1995. But the 12- sign zodiac is what we have been following for thousands of years and the incontrovertible truth is the connect we have with our zodiac sign. You identify your basic traits with that of your zodiac sign and that is the foundation of your belief in astrology.  If you are a Taurus you tend to be stubborn, practical, and independent whereas a scorpio would be moody, impulsive and passionate. There may be some traits of other zodiac signs which you would identify with, but your zodiac sign would define the basics of your personality.  Our expert astrologers say that what you believe in is an occult art which has been passed on through generations, it would stand the test of time.
