Life and Times of Amitabh Bachan
by Deepak Kapoor
Amitabh Bachchan, known as the king of Indian cinema is
truly a living legend today. Born on 11th October 1942,
he started his film career in 1969 with the film Saat Hindustani
in the dasha of Jupiter/Rahu. He achieved real success only
from 1971 onwards with the onset of his Saturn mahadasha
from about the end of 1971. There was no looking back for
him thereafter in terms of popularity and prosperity.
His prowess in acting was recognized in Anand, Guddi, Reshma
& Shera (1971), Abhimaan and Zanjeer(1973), Namak Haraam
(1974) and Deewar (1975). He was awarded the best supporting
actor award for Anand in 1972 and for Namak Haraam in 1974.
He was running the dasha of Saturn/Saturn during that period.
That dasha gave him recognition and fame but not enormous
wealth. From end of 1974 his Saturn/Mercury started and
continued upto the beginning of 1977 in which his financial
returns zoomed especially in the year 1975.
This was followed by nearly a decade of his prominence
in Indian cinema
upto the middle of 1980's. His several movies made history
which included Mili and Sholay in 1975, Kabhi Kabhie in
1976, Amar Akbar Anthony in 1977, Don in 1978, Mukaddar
ka sikandar in 1979 and so on. The list is endless. He was
awarded the best actor award for Amar Akbar Anthony in 1978,
Don in 1979 and Hum in 1992.
In July 1982 during the making of Coolie, he was involved
in a near fatal accident. He was running Saturn/Sun/Ketu
at that time. As soon as Saturn/Sun/Venus started on 9-8-1982,
there was some improvement in his condition. With the onset
of Saturn/Moon dasha he was discharged from the hospital
and recovered.
In 1984 during the dasha of Saturn/Mars he was elected
to the Lok Sabha from Allahabad parliamentary constituency.
But by the onset of Saturn/Rahu in 1985 he had several obstacles
in his political career and he ultimately resigned.
Amitabh attempted to return to commercial cinema in 1990's
but he did not have the impact he had in earlier years.
During this period he was running the dashas on Mer/Mer,
Mer/Ketu. Mer/Ven/ and Mer/Sun. Between 1993 to 1996 he
ventured into ABCL (Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd) and
incurred heavy losses during the dasha of Mer/Ketu and Mer/Ven.
From July 2000, in the dasha of Mercury/Rahu he again came
into prominence with the launch of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
This resulted in his bigger brand image and his movies clicked
in this second innings. This dasha again gave him access
to enormous wealth. In Mercury/Rahu/Mercury in January 2001
he was awarded Padma Bhushan.
Amitabh Bachchan is now running the dasha of Mercury/Jupiter.
and the
pratyantardashas to follow are of Ketu, Venus and Sun from
November 2003 to June 2004. These dasha are not favorable
for him, personally, financially and professionally. He
is likely to incur losses and there may be set back to his
health causing anguish. Although he is at the peak of his
career at the moment, yet the next 6 to 8 months are not
particularly favorable for his career as well.
Hence this is a period for propitiation of planets and
for prayers. May
God give him peace, prosperity and a long life.
Prashna Shastra
Prashna or asking a question is an advanced
technique of astrology, which is employed in special circumstances
and which can throw light under any situation requiring
astrological consultation. In a moment of crisis when you
need to take an immediate decision, in a business situation
that requires prompt action or a personal crisis in which
you require guidance as soon as possible. In all these situations
and many more, prashna is a tool of immense value.
Our traditional classics on prashna say that one should
approach an able astrologer, truthfully and sincerely, without
any intention to test or make fun of the astrologer or astrology.
A querist must have a strong urge to ask a question to alleviate
those anxieties, which are troubling him at that moment.
A querist should go to an astrologer, preferably in the
morning, taking some fruits or flowers as his offering,
facing or standing in the east direction, praying to God,
ask one question which is his foremost anxiety at that moment.
In the present era of Internet and distances, there still
are certain rules of asking a prashna without which the
very basis of prashna gets vitiated and may lead to wrong
interpretation and results. These rules, in brief are:
1. You must have a strong urge to ask a question pertaining
to the worry or anxiety at the moment when you ask the question.
2. You must ask one question, which should be clear and
straightforward.
3. The question must not be repeated to the same or any
other astrologer until and unless some development has already
taken place after the earlier reading and a need for fresh
question has arisen.
4. You must ask a question giving in addition, the full
details of your birth data for the purpose of correlation
of your birth chart dasha and influences.
5. Even if you do not have your birth data, astrology through
its magical technique of prashna can still help you. Hence
you can ask your question stating clearly therein that you
do not have your birth data, if that is the case.
6. As the conduct and outcome of a prashna is based on divine
blessings, be guided by the reading of an astrologer with
faith and humility.
